Privacy Policy

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and WhatsApp phone number. When you use ZylNote we store the notes, vaults, and tags you create. We also store your message history with the WhatsApp bot so the AI can maintain context within a conversation.

We collect basic usage data (page views, feature interactions) through first-party analytics to understand how the product is used. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Your data is used only to provide the service — to power the editor, graph, AI search, and WhatsApp integration. Your notes are never read by us outside of automated processes (search indexing, AI queries you initiate). We do not sell your data to any third party.

When you ask the AI a question or save a note, the note content is sent to an AI inference provider to generate an embedding (a mathematical representation used for search). This data is not retained by the provider and is not used for model training.

Your notes are stored in an encrypted cloud database with continuous backups. Soft-deleted notes are held in trash for 30 days before permanent removal. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

You can export all your notes as Markdown or JSON at any time from the settings page. You can delete your account and all associated data from settings. Deletion is permanent and irreversible — we do not keep backups of deleted accounts.

If you are based in the EU or UK you have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. Contact us at hello@zylnote.app to exercise any of these rights.

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

ZylNote uses the following third-party services to operate:

• A cloud database provider for note storage
• An AI inference provider for semantic search and the Ask feature
• WhatsApp Cloud API (Meta) for the messaging integration
• A payment processor for billing on paid plans

Each provider is subject to their own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data required for the service to function.

If we make material changes to this policy we will notify you by email and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ZylNote after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
